Ladder Safety Awareness
Participants will have an understanding of the Legislation and the importance of Safety while working at heights using a ladder. The course wil also help educate the student on the safe use and inspection of ladders.
Who This Course is for
- Employers who have ladders as part of the equipment for their employees for use through the course of their duties
- Any employee who has to use a ladder during the course of their work
Course Content:
- Legislation relative to the use of ladders/working at height
- Working at Heights Regulations 2006
- Duties of Employers & Employees under the Safety, Health & Welfare at Work Act 2005
- How to Carry out a Risk Assessment – Avoid, Prevent & Minimise
- How accidents are recorded
- Use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Pre-use inspection of ladders
- Types of ladders
- Safe Systems of work
Course Duration:
- This is a half-day course. It can be conducted on-site in the Employers place of business, or at a nominated venue.
- It is recommended that participants undergo a Refresher Course every three years
